The AI will initiate a rampage if it has enough forces at its disposal to do so, and if rampaging does not jeopardize any currently owned systems. However, the destruction of space defences in these systems is likely to render these places vulnerable to 'normal' AI attacks. Rampage attacks therefore do not include the actual conquest of any planets other than the target. Once the space above the target planet is conquered, it will immediately follow this up with a ground assault. It will gather a large fleet, also containing ground forces, and attempt to conquer space above all planets en route to the target. This planet does not have to be adjacent to its territory by any means. When this happens, it targets a specific player owned planet, often one with important production facilities or space tech installations. On hard and expert difficulty levels, the AI has the ability to launch rampage attacks. The movement, which was started about the same time by the ennobled peasant, Tudor Vladimirescu, for the emancipation of the lower classes, soon acquired, therefore, an anti-Greek tendency.Vladimirescu was executed by the EtaireĆa the latter were completely checked by the Turks, who, grown suspicious after the Greek rising.
This difficulty is recommended for experienced players who are very comfortable with the mod, and who are looking for a true challenge against the full power of AotR's notoriously brutal AI. The Greek uprising was supported by the Wallachian uprising of 1821. The AI can launch rampage mode from week 30 onwards, and may include more units in these attacks. The AI builds things three times as quickly, and receives three times as much income as it normally would.
This difficulty is recommended for players who have become familiar with the mod and are now looking for a greater challenge. While stronger as a support fleet, it has less fighter squadrons and slightly less firepower then the Core. Together, this fleet consists of a Venator, a Victory 1, 2 Dreadnaughts, 2 Arquintens, an Acclamator, and a Carrack. However, on hard difficulty, the AI cannot do this until after week 50. After this, move all your spaces forces from Ord Ibanna to Falleen together over Eriadu. This difficultly setting is also the first setting to feature rampage mode, which is explained at the bottom of this page. The AI builds things twice as quickly, and receives twice as much income as it normally would. This difficulty level is recommended for new players or to test new strategies. Furthermore, unlike on other difficulties it has a sleep cycle, meaning that after every move it makes, it pauses and gives the player a chance to react. The AI gets no bonuses to income or production.
